Metodologi Tafsir bi Al-Ijtihad: Kajian Teoritis dan Praktis Penggalian Hukum dari Teks Al-Qur'an

This study examines the methodology of tafsir bi al-ijtihad and its significant role in deriving Islamic law (istinbath al-ahkam) from the texts of the Qur'an. The research explores how ijtihad bridges the gap between the finite texts of revelation and the infinite complexities of human life. Supported by evidence from the Qur'an, such as QS. Ali Imran: 7 and QS. Al-Baqarah: 228, as well as various Hadiths, the study confirms that utilizing intellectual capacity in Qur'anic exegesis is a necessity, provided it adheres to strict methodological and scientific prerequisites. The findings indicate that prominent scholars acknowledge tafsir bi al-ijtihad (al-ra'yi al-mahmud) as a valid approach distinct from baseless speculation (al-ra'yi al-madzmum). Practical applications of this methodology are evident in resolving linguistic ambiguities, such as the meaning of lamastum in the verses concerning ablution and the distinction between faqir and miskin in the context of zakat recipients.
